Pay in up to £4,000 a year and the government adds 25% (up to £1,000 a year). You can use it without a charge to buy your first home costing up to £450,000 (account open at least 12 months), from age 60, or if terminally ill. Any other withdrawal loses 25% of the amount taken out, which is more than the bonus you got. LISA payments count toward your £20,000 ISA allowance.
